...they’re seemingly bringing back the s suffix for the i cars. First up is i3s.

We already have the M240i, M340i, M550i and M760i which are not even remotely close to an actual M car.
Just go back to the old system (series+displacement+engine suffix) for crying out loud:
320i = 320i
330i = 320is
M340i = 330i
ActiveHybrid 3 = 320e
430i = 320is coupe/convertible
M440i = 330i coupe/convertible
430i Gran Coupe = 320ti
330i Gran Turismo = Kill with fire
Seriously, screw Audi and Mercedes and their backwards numbering system.

huh? Audis naming system is probably the easiest to understand...
A for normal
S for sport
RS for REALLY sport
Q for SUV.
number denotes size.
